We are seeking a talented individual for a Health Plan Solutions Account Manager II who is responsible for the management of at least one account or significant project. Responsible for managing the client contract, relationship management, and ensuring that HMS operations perform according to contractual commitments. The Account Manager is also responsible for revenue generating activities and upselling new services to existing clients to achieve contract and corporate financial goals.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Prepares, monitors, and manages budget and revenue expectations for assigned client(s).

  • Works with client(s) to develop project approach and implementation plans.

  • Oversees development and implementation.

  • Reports to management on progress toward strategic account growth and business goals.

  • Communicates/interfaces regularly with client(s).

  • Directs HMS contract operations to ensure successful delivery of services to client(s).

  • Identifies and continually seeks new sources of revenue.

  • Builds relationships with internal and external staff to ensure client expectations are being met or exceeded.

  • Manages client relationship; responsible for ensuring client satisfaction.

  • Identifies sales opportunities and assists the account management team with successful close of sale (including proposal development process).

  • Monitors state legislative, regulatory, and competitive environment and alerts management to risks and opportunities.

  • May oversee additional account management staff (i.e. Account Mgr I).

  • Supports collaboration between account management team, internal departments and operations staff.

  • Requires occasional standing, walking, lifting, and moving objects (up to 10 lbs.)

  • Requires manual dexterity to use computer, telephone and peripherals

  • May be required to work extended hours for special business needs

  • May be required to travel at least 10% of time based on business needs

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Minimum Related Work Experience:

  • Without bachelor's degree, 7 years relevant work experience with experience in one of the following areas preferred:

  • Health insurance

  • Client service/business to business

  • Healthcare policy

  • Industry with high level of compliance (i.e. Finance)

  • Large client management

  • With Bachelor's degree, 3 years of relevant experience

Tasks

  • Inform customers of estimated delivery schedules, service contracts, warranties, or other information pertaining to purchased products.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information, such as selling strategies or marketing information.
  • Provide customers with ongoing technical support.
  • Advise customers on product usage to improve production.
  • Study documentation or other information for new scientific or technical products.
  • Stock or distribute resources, such as samples or promotional or educational materials.
  • Attend sales or trade meetings or read related publications to obtain information about market conditions, business trends, environmental regulations, or industry developments.
  • Sell service contracts for technical or scientific products.
  • Demonstrate the operation or use of technical or scientific products.
  • Provide feedback to product design teams so that products can be tailored to clients' needs.
  • Arrange for installation and testing of products or machinery.
  • Initiate sales campaigns to meet sales and production expectations.
  • Obtain building blueprints or specifications for use by engineering departments in bid preparations.
  • Verify accuracy of materials lists.
  • Verify customer credit ratings.
  • Appraise equipment to determine contract terms or trade-in values.
  • Consult with engineers regarding technical problems with products.
  • Sell technical and scientific products that are environmentally sound or designed for environmental remediation.
  • Visit establishments, such as pharmacies, to determine product sales.
  • Present information to customers about the energy efficiency or environmental impact of scientific or technical products.
  • Inform customers about issues related to responsible use and disposal of products, such as waste reduction or product or byproduct recycling or disposal.
  • Research and convey information to customers about tax benefits or government rebates associated with energy-efficient scientific or technical products, such as solar panels.
